The knee joint is a marvel of biomechanical engineering, where the distal head of the femur meets the head of the tibia, with the patella (kneecap) floating gracefully on top. This intricate system works in harmony with powerful muscle groups – the quads and hamstrings – to create a hinge joint capable of extension and flexion, enabling us to walk, run, jump, and move with ease.
